Picnic

There was a picnic on campus earlier this week...and now Henry asks to go to a picnic almost everyday.

I put shoes on Svea, which she obviously did not intend to keep on.
Studying them and unlatching the velcro:

Victorious!:

Aren't I clever, Mama?

Henry found a big-kid friend to throw the ball and run around with...

until they got too hot and tired and had to rest a bit:

Hey Mollie,

I don't know you and you don't know me, but I want to ask you about the name SVEA. My wife and I are having a baby in a month and our leading girl name is SVEA (I'm Finnish, my wife is Swedish, so we want to give the baby a Nordic name). So I googled the name Svea to see what I could learn about the name, and I found your blog.

I'm curious why you picked that name for your daughter...are you Swedish? Have you had any problems with folks trying to pronounce it? We LOVE the name, but we want to learn as much as we can about it 'cause it is quite unusual!

Ahh, the challenges of naming a baby!

Thanks,

Jonathan (and Dawn)

How about your first comment? You are influencing the future of their family. Anyway, I hope their daughter is as smart as yours and can stand up, bust a groove, strike a pose, remove a shoe, crawl around, grow some teeth, come see pops, can't be beat. love you
