Wabi-Sabi 6: Becky

Everyone,

Meet Becky.
She also has a blog here.

This is a picture beside our deck out back. It drives me crazy that weeds grow through those rocks and I always pull them, spray them,...do anything I can to get rid of them. However, I love spring. I love the new life that it brings and the freshness involved in things blooming and growing. It reminded me of how I need to get out of my winter 'funk' and enjoy life more. 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!' 2 Corinthians 5:17

This picture is of rain. Although the picture looks like next to nothing, there is a great story behind it. When I was pregnant with my first baby, they told us it was not a viable pregnancy and they were planning to terminate. They couldn't find a heartbeat. We didn't agree and went for further testing, but that night, my husband and I prayed that if God wanted us to have this baby, He would take care of the situation. And as he prayed, my husband 'felt' a lightning bolt strike him as if God were saying, 'I got your heartbeat right here'. Growing up, I was so afraid of storms, but have learned to look at them differently. When I look at my Ellie, I know that miracles do happen - especially when it is storming.

This picture is one that is very dear to me. My husband and I were on a weekend getaway when I found out my cousin had lost her battle with cancer. Nothing made sense and it was the hardest time in my life, but this picture reminds me that God is good all the time, even when it doesn't make sense.

Okay, so the rain showed up much better on my computer and camera. Doesn't look like much at all on here. Oh, well.

I do really like your comments on the stepping stone photo. I like the mix of the grass textures next to the stone and pebbles. I have that thought sometimes too that certain weeds are actually really pretty!

Great pictures. I really like the first picture of the stones and grass and moss coming through. Would have loved to see evan a more close up piece of it too! Great job!

I love the sunset shot. Love the comment, and also the stillness of the silouette framing the moving ripples in the water. BP
